The Labor-Religion Coalition of New York State is excited to share some big news with you! In 2025, we’ll be taking the next step in our more than 40-year history as we become a program of the Kairos Center for Religions, Rights, and Social Justice. This transition represents a significant opportunity to deepen and grow the work LRC has done across New York State for decades.
Rest assured, LRC’s work in our new home will feel very familiar. The Labor-Religion Coalition will continue to organize faith leaders and communities, advocate alongside labor and grassroots partners for pro-worker, anti-poverty policies, mobilize support for worker organizing and contract campaigns, and partner with the NYS Poor People’s Campaign. We’ll keep offering educational programming and equipping faith, labor, and other community leaders with the tools they need to continue movement-building work that centers the needs and voices of the poor.
LRC and the Kairos Center have a rich history of close, effective collaboration, from organizing “Moral Mondays” at the state Capitol in 2015 and 2016, to our Truth Commission projects in 2017 and 2022, to helping to anchor the Poor People’s Campaign in New York State since 2017 as well as our recent organizing around the state budget in 2023 and 2024. By joining the Kairos Center, LRC is building on a track record of demonstrated impact and deep alignment at the level of mission, vision, and values. We will also continue to lead movement-building efforts amongst faith and labor communities in New York, while benefiting from the administrative support, national network, and extensive organizing and education experience that Kairos brings to the table.
The Labor-Religion Coalition of New York State could not have made it this far without your support. This transition marks a pivotal moment in our history, and your support has been—and will continue to be—essential to our success. Will you join us in stepping into this new chapter by continuing your support and making a contribution today? Your support will ensure that we have the resources to move our vital work forward and to expand our impact across New York State.

Thank you for your steadfast support over the years. We hope you will join us in embracing this exciting transition and continue to walk alongside us as we build a more just and compassionate world together.
In solidarity and hope,
